The middle school cheerleading and dance team began their season cheering at both the grey team game and the blue team game for middle school boys basketball against Morningside Academy on 11/11/24 in the Wachter Activities Center. The energetic squad proved instrumental in bringing school spirit to the packed gym, with both of the Pirate basketball teams securing their season-opening victories against the Eagles.
The cheer team led Pirate fans in several basketball chants and cheers during the matchups, such as Shoot, Shoot, Shoot, Shoot the Hoop, and Set It Up, as well as fan favorites like Blue and White, V-I-C-T-O-R-Y, and Rockin'. At the halftime of each game, the cheer squad took to center court to perform a choreographed dance to ETA by NewJeans.
Cheering at the basketball games were this year's middle school cheer squad members Selah Beyer, Elise Brown, Brielle Corr, Maui Henriquez, Aiva Juste, Sienna Kirkland, Laura Lenzner, Lily Postlethwaite, and Miranda Rojas.
Next game is a triple-header at home on 11/18/24, starting at 3:30 PM in the Wachter Activities Center.
