Varsity Football Holds Back Tradition Prep In Final Game of Regular Season
Having already won seven games in a row, the varsity football team looked to make it eight in their Senior Night matchup on 10/24/24 against the Tradition Preparatory High School Pirates. The resolute Pirate team didn't hold back as they overcame their opponents 29-12.
Quarterback Nate Sparkman threw for 271 yards and 3 touchdowns: with 2 to Connor O'Brien and 1 to Amare McCoy. Sparkman is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for 3 or more in the last 3 games. Nicky Colontrelle saw 90 yards of Sparkman's aerial production. Jaden Jackson rushed for 100 yards on 22 carries and also recorded a score.
The Pirates' imposing defense contributed greatly to the victory as they managed to get into the backfield for 6 sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Patrick MacMullan and Gary Anderson, who racked up 5 sacks between them. Ethan Ball and Keegan Nyman proved impenetrable on defense, collecting 11 tackles each, and Ball also forced a fumble. Seamus Moylan shone on special teams, recording 3 tackles on kickoffs.
