Varsity Volleyball Takes Charge Against Heritage HS
On 9/3/24, the varsity volleyball team faced off at home against Heritage High School in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. Despite falling 21-25 in a close first set, the Pirates rallied to sweep the Panthers in the next 3 sets: 25-19, 25-20, 25-18.
Eighth-grader Grace Clemente's attacks proved unstoppable as she collected 20 kills and 7 digs. A true team player, Margaret Fykes recorded 27 assists, 3 aces, and 19 digs for the Pirates. Makena Rodriguez made 8 kills, 1 ace, and 25 digs toward the ultimate victory. Grace Fykes provided 2 assists and 12 digs, and teammate Natalee Rogers tallied 3 assists and 11 digs. Maddie Moscrip netted 4 aces and 7 digs, and Alice Crean contributed 5 kills, 2 digs, and 2 blocks. Also rounding out the successful night for the Pirate team were Sommer Soderman with 2 aces and 4 digs; Grace Griffeth with 1 kill, 1 assist, 1 dig, and 1 block; and Khlieo Perez with 2 kills and 2 digs.
