Varsity Swimming Takes Part in TOI Invitational

On 9/21/24, the varsity swimming teams traveled to Indian River State College in Fort Pierce to compete in the TOI Invitational. Because of the size of this meet, swimmers are required to swim in preliminaries to determine if they move on to the finals. Varsity boys swimmer Jay Leibik finished 17th place in the 50 Yard Freestyle finals at 24.54 and 19th place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke finals with 1:14.90. Varsity girls swimmer Sophia Cetrulo placed 19th in the 100 Yard Breaststroke finals with 1:26.34 and set her best time of the season in the preliminaries with 1:23.78. Varsity boys swimmer Matthew Burris swam his best time of the season in the 100 Yard Freestyle preliminaries with 57.85 to finish 22nd and narrowly miss the finals.

In boys relay events, the team of Alexander Wolek, Jack Newman, Leibik, and Burris finished 15th place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with 2:10.22. The team of Leibik, Burris, Wolek, and Newman finished 18th place in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:48.21.

In girls relay events, the team of Lily Browning, Cetrulo, Addison Logemann, and Larissa Peterson finished 22nd place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:48.35. The team of Cetrulo, Logemann, Peterson, and Browning finished 25th place in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with 2:23.81.
 
Next meet is away on 10/1/24 at the North County Aquatic Center in Sebastian, starting at 4:30 PM.
