Varsity Girls Cross Country Captures 1st Place at Centennial Invite

The varsity cross country teams competed in the Centennial Invite at St. Lucie West Centennial High School in Port St. Lucie on 9/14/24. The girls team secured first place overall in the competition, and the boys team finished 7th.

For the girls team, all 5 of the runners who competed in the race set new personal records. Stephanie Storts finished 24:24.50 to place 6th, and Sophie Cooper was not far behind in 8th place with 24:40.30. Cadence Callaghan placed 13th with a time of 25:27.90. Also scoring for the Pirates team were Isabella Peter in 22nd place with 26:12.90 and Emma Ramsay in 40th place with 29:12.90

For the boys team, Jack Curley broke his personal record and finished the race in 4th place out of 116 racers with a time of 18:31.60. Spencer Taft finished 31st for the team with 21:22.70. Aiden Bryant set a new personal record by 1:29 with his time of 25.17.60 in what was only his second cross country meet with the Pirates. Jamin Dunham and Trey Donohoe also contributed points towards the Pirates' team score.
 
Next meet is away on 9/21/24 at the Indian River County Invite, starting at 7:30 AM at the Indian River County Fairgrounds in Vero Beach.
