Varsity Volleyball Takes on Cougars in District Semis

The varsity volleyball team traveled to Merritt Island Christian School in Merritt Island on 10/15/24 to compete in the Class 1A District 8 Semifinals. The Pirates came out hot in the first 2 sets, claiming victories in both: 25-18, 25-22. Faltering in the 3rd set, the Pirates fell to the Cougars 17-25. Undeterred, the Pirates fought hard in the 4th set, narrowly giving way 22-25. The Pirates ultimately fell to their opponents 11-15 in the 5th set, bringing their season to a close.

Leading the stat board for the Pirates were Makena Rodriguez with 11 kills, 1 assist, 1 ace, 16 digs; Margaret Fykes with 2 kills, 34 assists, 1 ace, and 14 digs; and Grace Clemente with 16 kills, 1 assist, and 3 digs.
