Sixth Graders Take Us on a Global Expedition

SES sixth graders took us on a global expedition as part of their end-of-year capstone project. The Global Expedition Project (GEP) is a sixth-grade cross-curricular capstone project that includes the history, science and English departments. Students engage in a semester-long study of their assigned country with four focus areas: science, history, research and technology skills. The project concludes with a Global Expedition Festival, where students will share and present their final projects.

At the recent Global Expedition Festival, their explorations were displayed wonderfully in the WAC. Among poster boards of extensive research, each student brought in cultural artifacts, served speciality food dishes and beverages and dressed in outfits representative and authentic to their country. They became worldwide experts, listing off fun facts and intricate details about their countries from memory.

We are so proud of our sixth graders and excited to see their continued academic success in seventh grade! Please click here for a downloadable album of photos from the festival.
