Competitive Matchup for Varsity Volleyball Against Centennial
The varsity volleyball team hosted St. Lucie West Centennial High School in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center on 9/10/24. The Pirates narrowly fell in the thrilling first set 25-27 but came back with a vengeance 25-18 in the second set. Falling 19-25 in the third set, the Pirates rallied to claim victory in the fourth set. The back-and-forth match was decided in the fifth set with the Pirates falling 12-15 to the Eagles.
Makena Rodriguez tallied 17 kills and 20 digs, and Grace Clemente recorded 20 kills and 11 digs for the Pirates. Margaret Fykes led the Pirates in assists with 36 in addition to her 1 ace and 18 digs. Natalee Rogers put up 20 digs and 4 assists for the team, and Sommer Soderman collected 16 digs. Additional Pirate gameday highlights: Alice Crean - 5 kills, 8 digs; Maddie Moscrip - 10 digs; Grace Fykes - 1 assist, 1 ace, 6 digs; Khlieo Perez - 2 kills, 2 digs; Grace Griffeth - 1 dig.
