Varsity Football Claims On the Road Victory Over Okeechobee
On 9/13/24, the varsity football team played their first road game of the year at Okeechobee High School in Okeechobee. Showing great teamwork on both sides of the field, the Pirates clinched their 4th victory in a row, defeating the Brahmans 40-22.
Quarterback Nate Sparkman had another big night, throwing for 325 yards and 5 touchdowns while completing 76.7% of his passes. Connor O'Brien brought in 3 of that touchdown, and teammates Nicky Colontrelle and Gary Anderson had 1 each. Jaden Jackson helped Sparkman out on the ground, rushing for 103 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries.
For the Pirate defense, Keegan Nyman and Anderson both forced a fumble against the Brahmans. Ethan Ball picked up a sack and made 8 total tackles in addition to snagging an interception.
