Varsity Volleyball Goes 5 Sets Against Golden Rams
On 9/18/24, the varsity volleyball team faced off on the court against John Carroll Catholic High School in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. Despite falling 19-25 in the 1st set to the Golden Rams, the Pirates rallied in the 2nd set 25-19 to even the score. Continuing the thrilling back-and-forth, the Golden Rams took the 3rd set 20-25, but the Pirates answered them 25-22 in the 4th set. A competitive 5th set saw the Pirates fall to their opponents with a heartbreaking 13-15.
Makena Rodriguez led the Pirates in kills with 15 and digs with 23 and provided 2 aces and 1 block for the team. Margaret Fykes led the team in assists with 33 in addition to her 1 kill, 6 aces, and 13 digs. Grace Clemente recorded 14 kills and 7 digs, and teammate Grace Fykes contributed 1 kill, 1 assist, and 13 digs.
