Varsity Swimming Makes Splash at North County Aquatic Center

The varsity swimming team competed in dual meets against Vero Beach High School and Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy on 10/1/24 at the North County Aquatic Center in Sebastian. Senior Jay Leibik captured 1st place in both of his events to set a season-best times: the 100 Yard Freestyle at 54.55 and the 50 Yard Freestyle at 23.82. Also swimming his best time, senior Matthew Burris finished 2:17.68 to place 1st in the 200 Yard Freestyle. Burris also placed 3rd in the 100 Yard Freestyle with 57.68. Junior Sophia Cetrulo won the 100 Yard Breaststroke with her 1st place finish time 1:28.68. Freshman swimmer Alexander Wolek placed 3rd in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with 1:20.63. The relay team of Wolek, Jack Newman, Leibik, and Burris clinched 1st place in the 200 Yard Medley Relay (2:11.09) to round out a winning day for the Pirates.

Ellie Ma, 7th place - 100 Yard Backstroke (2:03.38), 8th place - 100 Yard Freestyle (1:42:40).
