Late Spring MS Intramurals Conclude for the Year

Middle school athletes recently wrapped up their late spring intramural season which ran from April 22-May 16 this year. The late spring season is a unique one at Saint Edward's School because it allows middle schoolers an opportunity to learn and grow in these offered sports during a shortened season without the pressure of competition. Whether participating in golf with Coach Rogers and Coach Wylie or in tennis with Coach Miller, Coach Higdon and Father Barrett, athletes had a chance to experience the nature of their chosen sport through instruction, drills, and play and are finishing up their school year with a bit of fun alongside their peers.

At the American Golf Club, the middle school golf team worked hard to develop their putting and chipping skills and saw time on the driving range. They even got to put their skills into practice and learned about general golf etiquette as they played a few holes on the course.

At Riverside Park Tennis Courts, the middle school tennis team worked hard on the courts, running through a variety of drills designed to improve their skills while having fun at the same time. Some of the team's favorite drills include playing "Up and Down the River" (One Done. All Done.) and "Mini Tennis." Athletes also got a chance to see some court action playing one another in doubles.
