On 12/9/24, the junior varsity boys basketball team went head-to-head with Master's Academy of Vero in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. The Pirates went back and forth with the Patriots in the first half, tying 13-13 at the end of the 1st quarter and slightly trailing 23-26 going into the half. The determined Pirates came back with a vengeance in the 3rd quarter, taking the lead and putting away their opponents 57-40 by the end of the game.
Syrus Cooper led the Pirates' scoring with 13 points, followed closely by Bobby Varricchio with 11. Trip Williams, David Vazquez, and Reid Morris each contributed 8 points toward the win, and Williams also recorded 3 steals. Trey Dunlap, who led the Pirates in rebounding with 17, scored 7 points and added 3 steals. Spencer Taft led the team in assists with 3. Helping ensure the Pirates maintained control of the ball were Reid Morris with 11 rebounds and David Vazquez with 6.
