Varsity Boys & Girls Cross Country Teams Capture 1st Place Overall at IRC Invite #2
On 9/21/24, the varsity boys and girls cross country teams took part in the Indian River County Invitational #2 at the Indian River County Fairgrounds in Vero Beach. Both Pirate teams dominated the race course, with both the boys and girls teams claiming a 1st place overall team finish.
For the boys team, Jack Curley secured a 1st place individual finish with his time of 18:56.60. Bobby Campbell turned in a season's best at 20:16.20 for 5th place. Spencer Taft recorded an 11th place finish with 21:08.60, and teammate Jamin Dunham set a new personal record of 21:09.90 to finish 12th. Aiden Bryant set a personal record at 21:41.80 and finished 17th place. Chris Campbell placed 18th at 21:56.20. Chris Perrin set a new personal record (22:14.60) to finish 21st while his brother Cam Perrin also set a personal record (22:25.50) to finish 23rd. Setting a new personal record, Matthew Barrett finished the race 42nd, and Trey Donohoe finished 47th.
For the girls team, Jacquelyn Perrin led the way with her 1st place individual finish at 23:13.50, her season's best time. Stephanie Storts finished 4th place with 24:40.60, and Sophie Cooper followed closely in 5th place with 24:41.30. Cadence Callaghan placed 8th with 26:19.10, and teammate Isabella Peter finished 9th with 26:35.50. Emma Ramsay rounded out the Pirate team at 19th place with 29:45.00.
Next meet is away on 10/1/24 at the Jensen Beach Invitational in Jensen Beach, starting at 5:40 PM.
