Hard-Fought Opening Game for MS Girls Basketball's Blue Team
The blue team for middle school girls basketball opened up their season at home on 11/18/24, taking on Oslo Middle School in the Wachter Activities Center. The Pirates navigated the game of back-and-forth skillfully, putting forth a great team effort against the Wildcats. The game came down to the wire as the Pirates lost in the heartbreaker 26-28.
Anastasia Headley led the offensive drive for the team, collecting 9 points. Defensively, Lily Chin put the pressure on the Wildcats' star player to keep her at bay. Grace Clemente scored 6 points for the Pirates, and Sloane Weber put up 3 points. Teammates Linley Davis-Curley, Chin, Ava Roselli, and Emmery Clarkson contributed 2 points apiece. Headley, Clarkson, Davis-Curley, and Roselli also proved instrumental on the Pirates' defensive end.
Next game is at home on 11/20/24 versus Sebastian Charter Junior High School, starting at 4:00 PM in the Wachter Activities Center.
