Saint Edward’s has grown and flourished as one of the best Florida independent schools since its founding in 1965 as a day school for students seeking a superior college-preparatory education. Enrolling students in preschool, elementary, middle and high school levels, today we serve just over 650 students in Pre-K through grade twelve.

Saint Edward’s students benefit from small class sizes and our superior faculty who are dedicated to involvement and excellence in teaching. Our expectations for student achievement are high, and our students rise to the occasion. Saint Edward’s students begin college counseling with experienced counselors during their eighth-grade year, and better than 90% of the graduating class is accepted into their college or university of first or second choice. Our SAT scores are well above state and national averages and are the highest achieved on the Treasure Coast. In keeping with our independent Episcopal School tradition, Saint Edward's places an emphasis on developing moral and spiritual character and good citizenship.

What Makes SES Different?

Our unique location on the Indian River Lagoon waterfront is a safe and beautiful learning environment. Our modern campus facilities include science labs at every level, modern classrooms, athletic fields, an aquatics complex, music and fine arts studios, two libraries, an Academic Learning Lab for academic support services and an 800-seat performing arts center.

Our curriculum is designed to foster the development of 21st-century skills: critical thinking, writing, reading, listening, presenting, scientific and quantitative skills, leadership, community service, organizational and study skills.

Centered on a love for children, advocacy is an environment of mutually supportive and respectful relationships. As advocates in a compassionate community, we are purposefully committed to nurturing and championing each other and to bringing out the best in each individual. It is a way of life.

Our students are taught to do what is right, not necessarily what is popular or convenient. It is through their leadership and passion for education that we have become one of the best Florida schools. Our students develop the confidence to stand up for what they believe in, and use everyday situations to examine and express their own spirituality. As a result of this focus, we believe our students gain balance, conviction, compassion and integrity, attributes that will serve them well in college, careers and in leading successful lives.

Whole Student

As one of the best Florida schools for pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade, Saint Edward's nurtures and develops the "whole student" by identifying each student's strengths, and encouraging him or her to pursue their personal interests and intellectual curiosities. Through enrichment classes, clubs and athletics, students explore areas outside of the curriculum and learn the development of new skills. Few Florida independent schools can offer the quality and diversity of state, national and private educational credentials. It’s for good reason, too -- 100% of students are accepted into four-year colleges.

Our affiliation with national associations affirms our commitment to adhere to best practices regarding governance, teaching, admissions and financial aid. Families who qualify for financial aid are awarded approximately $1.7 million dollars a year.

We are Pirates!

Cherished traditions such as Spirit Week, Unity Day and ABC Day give students a creative outlet to develop memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Even Lower School students participate in their own traditions such as the Christmas Concert, which is the cutest, fanciest night on the School calendar.
