Mr. and Mrs. Baker 100% without these super supportive characters in my life I’d be no where near as progressed in life as I am. They sprouted my budding passion and allowed me to find a career in acting.
What’s something you accomplished at SES that your freshman-year self would be impressed by?
I earned a Critics choice at the district Thespian festival on a script we chose half as a joke. Or in 8th grade at the end of the year when me and friend somehow managed to let Father Barrett perform the Hokey Pokey infront of the middle and upper school and everyone joined in.
Drop some wisdom—what’s one piece of advice you’d give to an underclassman?
As far as grit will get you, as far as encouragement will get you, as far as perseverance will get you, none of these elements will get you as far as surrounding yourself with the right people for you. Those that build you up when you’re down, turn challenges into competitions, make hours feel like minutes, and make everyday worthwhile if you get to see their smiling faces. Those are the people you need to find and keep hold of. If you do this and listen to my advice, you’ll find your life naturally improving with minimal effect on your end.
