Varsity Girl Lifters Fair Well in 1st Home Meet of Season

On 11/13/24, the varsity girls weightlifting team hosted Vero Beach High School in the Wachter Activities Center for the Pirates' first home meet of the season. 

In her division, sophomore Issie Evans went 6for6 in both the Olympic category (45/50/95) and the Traditional category (50/60/110). She placed 3rd in both of her events. 

Sophomore Jaida Jackson went 6for6 in the Olympic category (55/75/130) to place 3rd, and she also went 6for6 in Traditional (75/105/180) to place 3rd.

Sophomore Valentina Henriquez made her weightlifting debut to place 3rd in her weight class in the Olympic category with 45/55/100, going 6for6. She also went 6for6 in the Traditional category, to receive 4th place for her lifts of 55/50/105.

Sophomore Genevieve Medalie placed 4th in her weight class in Olympic with 35/60/95, and she went 6for6 to place 3rd in Traditional with 60/70/130.

Rounding out the competitive day for the Pirates, junior Sophia Cetrulo went 6for6 in both Olympic (45/45/90) and Traditional (45/55/100) and placed 4th in both categories as well.
 
Next meet is away on 12/5/25 at John Carroll Catholic High School in Fort Pierce, starting at 4:00 PM.
