Varsity Boys Lacrosse Stuns Minutemen in Opening Day Game

On 2/11/25, the varsity boys lacrosse team opened their season at home on the Michael J. Mersky Field, taking on the Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School Minutemen. The Pirates took advantage of their early lead, keeping the Minutemen scoreless until the 4th quarter. Emerging as the victors, the Pirates lay claim to a successful final score of 19-2.

Leading the charge for the Pirates were Connor O'Brien with 5 goals and 2 assists and Chris Campbell with 5 goals and 1 assist. Charlie Corrigan tallied 3 goals and 1 assist for the team, and Turner Barnett recorded 1 goal and 3 assists. Brady McCoy provided 2 goals and 1 assist, and Keegan Nyman netted 2 goals toward the victory. Alex Dambournet added 1 goal in the Pirates' successful night. Nyman ruled the field in faceoff wins with 10, and Matthew Vatland accrued 3. At the goal, Edwin Provancher made 4 saves on 4 shots on goal, and David Vazquez saw 1 save on 3 shots on goal.

On-the-field stats for the Pirate team include 27 ground balls, 34 shots on goal, and 7 caused turnovers.
