Varsity Girls Lacrosse Opens Regular Season on Top
The varsity girls lacrosse team traveled to Melbourne on 2/10/25 to take on Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy for their season-opening game. Despite being down several players, the Pirates easily handled the Tigers to bring home a 16-7 victory.
Margaret Fykes dominated in the center with 7 draw controls and led the scoring with 3 goals. Grace Fykes added another 3 goals, followed by Kelly Lynch with 2 goals and 2 assists, Emma Ramsay with 2 goals and 1 assist, and Blaire Moore and Cami Colontrelle with 2 goals each. Lily O'Brien and Lily Chin tallied 1 goal apiece, and Avery Orzechowski provided 1 assist.
Madeline Richards led a shutdown defense that held the Tigers to 1 goal through the first half and saw aggressive play highlighted by Chin's 2 blocked passes and 1 interception and O'Brien's interception as well. Goalie Maddie Moscrip continued the success of last season by stopping 5 of 6 shots on goal, and goalie Abbey Carter logged her first 2 varsity saves.
Next game is at home on 2/14/25 versus Bishop Moore High School, starting at 6:00 PM in Pirate Stadium.
