Ten thousand pounds is equal to five tons. Visualizing this number might be a tough challenge, but we'll give you ten examples to help put the large weight in to perspective. An African forest elephant, five rhinos, a standard RV, two dumpsters, two shipping containers, four cubic yards of gravel, an ambulance, four to six great white sharks and 33 full oil barrels all weigh 10,000 lb., so what's the tenth one? Our incredible Food Drive donations!
This year, all divisions collectively donated 10,700 pounds of food to support the Food Pantry of Indian River County (more than double last year's total). The pantry serves 225-250 families each week, approximately 800 individuals, and the School's donations alone will feed these individuals for two and a half weeks. Thank you to all of the parents, students, faculty and staff for your astonishing efforts in providing meals for those less fortunate in our community, and thank you to Father Barrett for leading this meaningful event. We are endlessly grateful for your support this holiday season. Click here to view highlights from the trailer-loading day.
