Varsity Boys Basketball Opens Season on the Road
On 11/18/24, the varsity boys basketball team traveled to Sebastian River High School to play in the their first game of the regular season. The Pirates put up a good fight on the court but were ultimately defeated by the Sharks 41-57.
Cody Simmonds led the Pirate scorers with 18 points and contributed 5 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Jayzere Cannon netted 11 points and collected 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 3 steals; and Gary Anderson sank 8 points and recorded 3 rebounds and 1 block. Teammates Carson Yates and Wyatt Burdick both put up 5 points apiece for the team, and each collected a steal. Daniel Clemente rounded out the scoring for the Pirates with 2 points and also added 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Rushil Sura contributed 2 rebounds for the Pirate team.
