Varsity Girls Basketball Outscores MCC on the Road
On 1/7/25, the varsity girls basketball team hit the road for Melbourne to take on Melbourne Central Catholic High School in their first game of the new year. Despite falling behind during the 1st quarter, the determined Pirates rallied in the 2nd quarter to outscore the Hustlers 38-18 in the last 3 quarters. The Pirates successfully seized the win from their opponents, bringing home a 46-30 victory.
Avonti Jennings led the Pirates on the scoreboard with 20 points. Teammates Gaby Collazo and Anastasia Headley put up 7 points each toward the victory. Sommer Soderman and Nahlia Hebig each netted 4 points, and Adterria Holloway and Shaniya Bryant sank 2 points each to help secure the Pirate win.
