Varsity Girls Basketball Stuns Panthers
On 1/9/25, the varsity girls basketball team went head-to-head with the Calvary Christian Academy Panthers in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. Despite trailing 8-11 in the 1st quarter, the Pirates rallied in the 2nd quarter with a 13-point run that saw the Panthers scoreless. Going into the 2nd half, the Pirate team never looked back, holding their opponents to just 6 points. The Pirates claimed the 39-17 victory to improve their season record to 7-2.
Avonti Jennings led the scorers with 19 points. Gaby Collazo netted 10 points. Teammates Sommer Soderman and Shaniya Bryant each put up 4 points, and Tirzah Boulding rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
