Varsity Boys Basketball Overthrows Patriots on Senior Night

The varsity boys basketball team hosted Master's Academy of Vero for Senior Night on 1/30/25 in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center. The Pirates took an early 20-11 lead in the 1st quarter and maintained the spread against the Patriots 41-33 going into halftime. With a narrowed 52-47 lead in the 3rd quarter, the Pirates buckled down 4th quarter to pull off the 77-61 victory.

Dominating the scoreboard for the Pirates, Cody Simmonds pulled out 24 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals, and 5 blocks. Gary Anderson remained the Pirate leader in blocks with 8 in addition to his 7 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals. Wyatt Burdick racked up 17 points for the Pirates, tied Simmonds and Anderson for the most rebounds with 10, and provided 3 assists and 2 blocks. Cole Register recorded 12 points, and Carson Yates netted 11 points for the team and picked up 1 rebound and 3 steals. Seorim McLendon accumulated 4 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block toward the victory, and Kaleb Jones nabbed 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist.
