Varsity Track & Field Takes Part in Bulldog Invitational
On 3/7/25, the varsity track and field team traveled to South Fork High School in Stuart to compete in the Bulldog Invitational. Scoring 48 points, the boys team tied for 6th place overall. The girls team scored 62 points and finished 7th overall.
On the track for the boys team, Jack Curley finished 1st place in the 1600m with a personal best time of 4:48.82. He also placed 2nd in the 3200m with 10:43.62. Nicky Colontrelle placed 5th in the 400 Hurdles at 1:10.47 to set a personal best record and finished 13th in the Triple Jump with 10.16m, another personal record. Jamin Dunham finished in 11th place in the 3200m with a personal record of 11:29.66 to qualify for the FLYRA MS State Championship. Matthew Cocks set a personal best time in 400m, and Chris Perrin and Cam Perrin set personal records in both the 800m and the 1600m. The 4x800 relay team consisting of Curley, Dunham, Ca. Perrin, and Ch. Perrin finished 7th with 10:19.55; and the 4x400 relay team consisting of Ch. Perrin, Colontrelle, Cocks, and Ca. Perrin finished 8th at 4:36.65. In field events for the boys team, Curley placed 2nd in Javelin with his 38.97m mark.
In track events for the girls team, Stephanie Storts finished 3rd in the 800m with a personal record of 2:34.00 and placed 4th in the 1600m with her personal best time of 5:42.41. Lilly Jensen came in 4th place in the 100m to set a new school and personal record with her time of 13.31. She also set a personal record with her 28.58 finish in the girls 200m to place 10th. Cadence Callaghan finished 5th in 400 Hurdles (1:21.18, tying her personal best time) and 6th in 100 Hurdles (21.27, a personal record). Tajani Gayle set a personal record in the 100m, and Milani Perez set personal bests in the 100m and 200m. Sophie Cooper hit personal best times in the 1600m and 3200m, and Jaiya Hebig set a personal record in the 800m. In relay events, the 4x100 relay team consisting of Audrey Elliott, Gayle, Jensen, and Mil. Perez finished 5th at 57.05, and the 4x800 relay team consisting of Callaghan, Cooper, Storts, and Isabella Peter also placed 5th at 11:37.09. The 4x400 relay team consisting of Callaghan, Nahlia Hebig, Kayla Jeune, and Niah Boulding finished in 6th place at 5:18.43. Mia Perez led the girls team in field events, placing 1st in Javelin (26.09m) and 4th in Discus (23.45m). N. Hebig placed 5th in the Long Jump with 4.14m. Jaida Jackson placed 5th in Javelin at 16.83m and 8th in Discus with 20.29m. Tirzah Boulding placed 6th in Javelin with her 15.09m throw. Jensen finished 8th in the Long Jump with 4.08m, and Elliott set a personal record of 3.7m in the Long Jump, finishing 11th.
