It isn't too late to participate in the Blood Drive this Wednesday, February 12, from 8:10 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Please sign up HERE. You must be 16 years of age or older to participate, and students that are not 17+ must fill out this permission form with their parents. Before your donation:
Be well rested and hydrate!
Get at least 8 hours of sleep the night before.
Drink an extra 16oz of water 30 minutes before your appointment.
Eat a healthy breakfast or lunch (or both if you are donating later in the day).
Avoid fatty foods like hamburgers, fries or ice cream.
Choose lean proteins (lean meat, cheese and yogurt) or complex carbohydrates (bread, cereal and fruit).
After your donation:
Relax for a few minutes in our refreshment & recovery area and have a snack.
Drink an extra four (8oz) glasses of liquids over the next 24 hours.
If you experience dizziness or lightheadedness, stop what you are doing and sit or lie down until you feel better.
Avoid performing any activity where fainting may lead to injury for at least 24 hours.
