Varsity Boys Basketball Goes Up Against Tradition Prep

On 1/31/25, the varsity boys basketball team hit the road for Port St. Lucie to take on Tradition Preparatory High School. The Pirates took an early 17-8 lead in the first quarter but fell 27-34 going into the half. Unable to regain their footing in the 2nd half, the Pirates were ultimately defeated 55-89.

Cody Simmonds, with 5 rebounds and 3 assists, and Carson Yates, with 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal, led the scoreboard for the Pirate team with 14 points each. Gary Anderson,  who led the team in rebounds with 13 and blocks with 8, and Cole Register, who led the team in assists with 5, followed closely with 8 points apiece.

Additional gameday highlights for the Pirates: Anderson - 2 assists; Register - 4 rebounds, 1 steal, and 1 block; Wyatt Burdick - 9 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal, 2 blocks; Kaleb Jones - 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal; Daniel Clemente with 1 rebound, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.
 
Next game is the Class 1A District 8 Quarterfinals versus Master's Academy of Vero Beach, starting at 5:30 PM in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center.
