Varsity Girls Lacrosse Emerges Victors Over Benjamin
The varsity girls lacrosse team hosted The Benjamin School on 3/18/25 on the Michael J. Mersky Field. The contest against the Buccaneers remained close through the first 2 quarters, with the Pirates taking a 3-2 lead going into halftime. The Pirate offense kicked into high gear in the 2nd half and never let up the pressure as the Pirates defeated their opponents for the first time in 13 years with a final score of 10-4.
Grace Fykes led the scoring for the Pirates with 4 goals, followed closely by Margaret Fykes with 3 goals. Lily O'Brien netted 2 goals. Caitlin Moscrip provided 1 goal and 1 assist, and Bebe Busch-Dunford added 1 assist. Madeline Richards led a smothering defense that held the Buccaneers to just 1 goal per quarter. Nicollette Kennedy, Leah Chin, and Avery Orzechowski added an interception, a blocked shot, and a blocked pass/caused turnover at critical times during the game. Maddie Moscrip had a sensational day in goal, adding a season-high 14 saves to her impressive career total.
