Varsity Track & Field Travels to Benjamin Invite #2
The varsity track and field team traveled to Palm Beach Gardens on 3/22/25 to take part in the Benjamin School Invitational #2. Both the boys and the girls team finished in 3rd place overall, with the teams setting 4 new school records and 30 new personal records.
In track events for the boys team, Jack Curley captured a 1st place finish in 1600m to set a personal record at 4:40.39. He also secured a 1st place finish in the 3200m with 10:47.32. Jay Leibik finished in 2nd place in the boys 800m with a personal best time of 2:15.14 and placed 3rd in the 110 Hurdles with 20.09. Nicky Colontrelle placed 3rd in the 400 Hurdles, setting a school record with his 1:09.16 personal best finish. Placing 4th in both 110 Hurdles and 400 Hurdles and achieving personal best times was Luc Dambournet at 21.24 and 1:11.06 respectively. The 4x800 relay team consisting of Reef Blackman, Aiden Bryant, Cameron Perrin, and Chris Perrin finished in 2nd with 10:38.64; and the 4x400 relay team consisting of Blackman, Leibik, Spencer Taft, and Colontrelle finished in 3rd at 4:16.96. In the 4x100 relay, the team consisting of Taft, Matthew Cocks, Dambournet, and Ch. Perrin finished 3rd with 53.82. In field events for the boys team, Colontrelle placed 3rd in the Triple Jump with 10.28m. Curley finished in 4th place in Javelin with his 36.63m throw. Taft placed 5th in the Long Jump at 5.25m to set a personal record. In Discus, Cocks set a school record with his 28.83m throw, placing 7th.
On the track for the girls team, Jacquelyn Perrin collected a 1st place finish in the 3200m with 13.29.71, and Sophie Cooper finished in 3rd place with 14:10.19. Stephanie Storts placed 3rd in the 1600m with a personal best time of 5:40.13, and J. Perrin followed closely in the 1600m with her 4th place finish time 5:47.53, also a personal record. Cadence Callaghan set a new school record with her 4th place finish in the 400 Hurdles at 1:17.55, and she placed 4th in the 100 Hurdles with a personal best of 20.44. Nahlia Hebig finished in 5th place in the 400 Hurdles to set a personal record with 1:22.26. In relay events, the 4x400 relay team consisting of Callaghan, Hebig, Storts, and J. Perrin placed 2nd at 4:42.40, and the 4x800 relay team consisting of Callaghan, Cooper, Hebig, and J. Perrin finished in 2nd place at 11:19.29. The 4x100 relay team consisting of Tajani Gayle, Lilly Jensen, Kayla Jeune, and Tirzah Boulding also finished 3rd at 57.57. In field events, Jensen set a school record with her 3rd place finish in the Triple Jump at 9.04m. Hebig secured 3rd place in the Long Jump at 4.20m, and Jensen placed 4th in the Long Jump with 4.20m. Storts saw a personal best throw in Javelin with 15.77m to place 4th, and Boulding set a personal record in Javelin with 15.76m, placing 5th.
