Varsity Track & Field Competes in Benjamin Invitational

The varsity track & field team traveled to The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens on 3/1/25 for an invitational meet. The girls team finished 7th overall with 46 points, and the boys team finished 8th with 29 points. The teams combined for 8 new school records and 1 tied record.

On the track for the girls team, Jacquelyn Perrin finished in 4th place at 13:21.34 in the 3200m, and Stephanie Storts finished 5th in the 800m at 2:36.57. Sophie Cooper finished in 7th place with 14.39.90 in the 3200m and in 10th place in the 1600m with 6:23.77. In the girls 4x800 relay, the team of Cadence Callaghan, Cooper, Storts, and J. Perrin captured 3rd place with their school record finish of 10:52.47. In the 4x400 relay, the team of Hebig, Sloane Moylan, Sloane Weber, and Storts finished in 3rd place with 5:11.02. In field events for the girls team, Mia Perez finished 1st place in both the Javelin (23.90m) and Discus (28.60m, a school record) and 10th place in the Shot Put (7.06m). Hebig finished 7th place in the Long Jump with 4.24m. Jaida Jackson placed 9th in Discus with 20.61m and 9th in Javelin with 17.78m.

In track events for the boys team, Jack Curley finished in 3rd place in the 3200m with 10:38.05, and Nicky Colontrelle placed 6th in the 400m Hurdles at 1:13.33. Jaden Jackson set new school records in the 100m (12.24) and 200m (25.38), and Spencer Taft set a school record in the 400m with 57.06 to finish in 10th place. Finishing in 3rd place, the 4x800 relay team of Taft, Leibik, Chris Perrin, and Curley clocked in at 9:25.31, which is a school record. The 4x400 relay team of Aiden Bryant, Colontrelle, Dambournet, and Matthew Cocks finished in 5th place at 4:20.32; and the 4x100 relay team of Jad. Jackson, Colontrelle, Leibik, and Dambournet finished in 6th place with 49.46, a school record. Curley led the boys team in the field events with his 4th place finish in Javelin (40.61m). Nicky Colontrelle placed 7th in the Long Jump at 5.47m. Leibik saw a tied school record with his 1.57m result in the High Jump to place 10th.
