I hope you had the opportunity to visit the annual Trunk Show this past weekend. This amazing event, organized and hosted by the Parents Association, began with a Friday evening kickoff event, followed by two full days of shopping. Many returning vendors, as well as many new vendors, brought their goods to share with the school and the greater Vero Beach community, but what stood out to me more than the quality of the items available was the quality of the people in attendance. Beginning with Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Thursday and then leading into the Trunk Show weekend, the sense of community, camaraderie and sheer joy of being on campus with family and friends is what stands out. Seeing our grandparents beam with love and pride while they watch their grandchildren perform and visit their classrooms is something we look forward to each year. Watching family and friends gather to support the School during the Parents Association’s biggest fundraising event of the year made many of us beam with pride, just like our grandparents.
Events such as these do not happen without a great deal of time, energy and love for the School. Grandparents and Special Friends Day, led by Dana Corr and Erin Clarkson and an outstanding group of parent volunteers made for a memorable day.
The Trunk Show, led by Parents Association President, Emily Essaye ’95, takes a year to execute from start to finish. Emily was supported with dozens of parents and employee volunteers who worked to make sure the weekend was perfect, and it was.
On behalf of the entire SES community, including our Board of Trustees, you have my most sincere thanks for supporting the School in these two wonderful events. We could not do it without you!
I look forward to seeing you around campus! Stuart
