Little Pirates Shapes Scavenger Hunt

During our geometry unit, Little Pirates had a hands-on learning experience as they explored and identified shapes around the classroom! Each child was given a foam shape and asked to go on a "shape hunt" to find an object in the room that matched their shape. This activity helped them connect geometric concepts to the real world and practice their observation skills. It was amazing to see how excited they were as they found matching shapes — from circular gears and tape rolls to rectangular MAGNA-TILES and LEGO blocks! Not only did this activity boost their shape recognition, but it also sparked conversations about how shapes appear in our everyday environment. This is a simple yet powerful way to make learning fun and meaningful while building a strong foundation for future math skills!
